Transformation Powerups
There are seven types of transformation powerups Mario can obtain in this game, each of which yields a different effect. Most are necessary to progress further in the game.

Bee Mario
	First Appearance: Honeyhive Galaxy Powerup item: A yellow-and-black striped mushroom Deactivates upon contact with water or damage from enemy Abilities: Hover (by pressing A), and stick to sticky surfaces
Boo Mario
	First Appearance: Ghostly Galaxy Powerup item: A ghostly white mushroom Deactivates upon contact with bright light Abilities: Invulnerability to other Boos, hover (by pressing A), become invisible (by shaking Wii Remote), travel through certain surfaces
Fire Flower
	First Appearance: Freezeflame Galaxy Powerup item: An orange fire flower Deactivates by time limit Abilities: Toss fireballs (by shaking Wii Remote) which can burn enemies and light torches
Ice Flower
	First Appearance: Beach Bowl Galaxy Powerup item: An icy blue flower Deactivates by time limit Abilities: Freeze water surfaces and fountains upon contact to form icy platforms
Rainbow Mario
	First Appearance: Gateway Galaxy Powerup item: A rainbow star Deactivates by time limit Abilities: Invulnerability, smash boulders, running speed increases
Spring Mario
	First Appearance: Toy Time Galaxy Powerup item: A spring-coiled mushroom Deactivates upon taking damage, touching water, or landing on a Launch Star. Abilities: Jumps very high (by pressing A with good timing).
Flying Mario
	First Appearance: Comet Observatory Powerup item: A red star Deactivates by time limit Abilities: Fly around the main hub. Used to access the observatory's higher levels.
